After moving to San Francisco, I was fortunate to join the team at Yup, an exciting edtech startup that was revolutionizing the world of P2P education with its chat-based mobile tutoring app (kind of like Snapchat for homework). As the Design Director at Yup, I led product and marketing design across multiple platforms, including desktop and mobile.

As Yup grew from a small startup to reach a series A funding round, I played a key role in rebranding the company and improving the overall product experience. I also contributed to the development of marketing funnels, landing pages, and referral program experiences.

During my time at Yup, the app was featured in Edsuge, Forbes, TechCrunch, SV Journal, VentureBeat and ranked among the top 10 Edtech apps in the US App Store. We also raised 12 million dollars in funding from leading VCs and education institutions. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to be part of such a successful startup.

At Yup, we were always striving to make our tutoring platform as efficient and effective as possible for both students and tutors. That's why we developed a system for onboarding, testing, and hiring tutors at scale, and why we created a library of canned responses for tutors to use during sessions. By learning from real student interactions, our tutors are able to streamline their sessions and make students feel more comfortable working with them. Our goal is to make the tutoring experience as fast and efficient as possible, so that everyone can get the most out of it.
